Our History
With more than 40 years of existence, the Puertito de Güímar Yacht Club is in very good health.
Born from a founding commission established in 1970 by a group of people headed by D. Antonio Mesa González, who would eventually become the first president of the society, opened its doors in November 1976. In the same year, work on the main pool was completed.
This group made up of Mr. Antonio Mesa González, Mr. Rigoberto Díaz Melero, Mr. Néstor Marrero, Mr. Francisco Yanes García, Mr. Galo Castro Leandro, Mr. Ofelio Serpa, Mr. Felipe Monje, Mr. Tomás Ángel Pérez Estévez ( second president), Mr. Arcadio Polegre, Mr. Tinerfe Hernández Fariña, Mr. José Agustín Campos, Mr. José Fernández and Mr. José Ramos, managed to make a dream come true: Club Náutico Puertito de Güímar, a dream that today more than 2,000 members and their families enjoy.
